Unit holds approx. 3 lbs. of ice in the hopper. (An optional Ice Hopper Extension, Model 2748-00-000, is available for purchase separately to increase the potential ice holding capacity of the BluBear hopper to approx. 12 lbs.) 

The BluBear Ice Shaver accepts ice cubes or block ice (if broken into pieces approx. 2 to 3 inches in size). The ice will not enter the shaving chute if the pieces are too large.
